Power
Numerous forklifts are designed to operate on propane gas. Forklifts which use propane are very simple to refill. The gas is stored inside a pressurized tank on the truck's back. The propane is pushed into the engine, where it is converted into vapor and then the vapor mixes with air. The throttle of the forklift is utilized to be able to control the flow of vapor. A spark plug ignites the air and vapor mixture creating pressure which moves the pistons. The pistons turn the wheels and power the hydraulic pump.
Because the types of forklifts that are operated by propane have low emissions and are clean burning, they are suitable to be utilized inside warehouses and other buildings.
Hydraulics
The hydraulic system of the forklift is what enables it to raise and move really heavy objects from place to place. Tubes, cylinders and a pump make up the hydraulic system. The pump forces dense fluid in the tubing and into the cylinders. The build up of pressure pushes a piston, that raises the forks. When the forks are lowered by the operator, the hydraulic fluid flows out of the cylinders and back in the pump.
Steering
Where maneuverability is required, propane forklifts are the most suitable. Unlike an automobile, a forklift uses its rear wheels to pivot, that enables the forklift to rapidly pivot on a tight radius.

Counterbalance lift trucks are essentially forklifts which are engineered with counterweight at the back of the equipment. The counterweight works to balance the weight which the forks are carrying at the front of the load. This specific design is engineered to stabilize conventional forklifts. When it comes to electric counterbalance lift trucks, the battery itself forms the counterweight.
